Dr. Catherine Buyrn, DVM is a compassionate veterinarian providing in-home pet euthanasia and hospice care to families throughout Raleigh, the Triangle, and surrounding areas of North Carolina. Originally from Chesapeake, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from Virginia Tech in 2018 and completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2022.

After beginning her career as a mixed-animal veterinarian in rural Virginia, Dr. Buyrn relocated to Raleigh to be closer to family. She has since practiced small-animal medicine in the Raleigh area, most recently at Quail Corners Animal Hospital, where she provided comprehensive care to dogs and cats for over two years.

Dr. Buyrn specializes in fear-free, low-stress handling and is dedicated to providing gentle, personalized in-home end-of-life care for pets. She understands the emotional complexity of saying goodbye and strives to create a calm, supportive environment for families during pet euthanasia and hospice visits in the comfort of home.

Inspired by her own childhood veterinarian who offered small-town, home-based support, Dr. Buyrn brings the same level of empathy and presence to every family she serves. Her approach centers on dignity, clear communication, and emotional support before, during, and after a pet’s passing.

Outside of work, Dr. Buyrn enjoys spending time with her two cats, Jack and Roo. Her interests include reading, exercising, walking, crocheting, watching television, and connecting with family and friends.
